Early development programmes
The municipality of Vaduz is a "child-friendly municipality" and is committed to providing families with the best possible support.
The early development programmes in Vaduz, such as playgroups or the play box, accompany the learning and development processes of children until they enter kindergarten. They focus on motor, language, emotional, social and cognitive skills. It is therefore important to the municipality to provide targeted support for these supplementary family services.
From August 2025, the municipality of Vaduz will provide all three-year-old children living in Vaduz with a playgroup voucher. This voucher enables every child to attend a playgroup in Vaduz once a week for the duration of one year free of charge or at a reduced cost.
The following offers are available:
Childcare "Erlebnisraum"
We sing, dance and romp together in the children's adventure room. We explore the garden, paint, do arts and crafts with various materials, listen to exciting stories, make friends and enjoy a variety of play and craft activities.

Children from 2.5 years to kindergarten age
Parents
The children's meeting takes place without parents present.

Eltern-Kind-Turnen
Parent-child gymnastics awakens, encourages and preserves the joy of movement for young and old. Children and adults discover, experience and move together, learn from each other and enjoy active togetherness in a cheerful atmosphere. This creates a healthy body awareness and trust in each other, while children learn social skills.
Suitable for
Children from the age of 2 until they start kindergarten (younger siblings can be taken along to gymnastics)
Parents
Parents do gymnastics together with their children.

Forest playgroup "Vaduzer Waldzwerge"
The Vaduz forest playgroup offers a variety of nature experiences and unforgettable sensory adventures at any time of year. Together we discover the beauty of nature and togetherness with heart, hand and head and enjoy the time for free play, "Brötla", crafts and simply being. The forest habitat offers countless opportunities for hours of learning and has a variety of activities in store for us: We discover and explore, we dig and muddy, we run and make noise, we sing and listen to stories, we can retreat and observe in peace. A constant group meets once a week in the Vaduz forest and in this way playfully promotes the connection to nature.

Indoor playgroup "Bärli"
The Bärli playgroup is a place of learning and education that complements the family. It is a lovingly designed meeting place for children to play, learn and have fun together. In a safe and happy environment, we encourage the children's social development, creativity and motor skills through age-appropriate activities and games. The group offers a varied program with free play, creative crafts, songs, movement and role play and much more. The playgroup also offers parents the opportunity to exchange ideas and socialize.

Children aged 2½ years until they start kindergarten
Parents
After an individual settling-in period, the playgroup takes place without parents present.

Spielkiste
The "Spielkiste" (play box) is a joint project of the municipality of Vaduz and the Liechtenstein Education Authority. Parents receive practical information on how to prepare their children for kindergarten and school. In the play box, children can play together, do handicrafts, paint, sing, laugh, listen to stories, discover the doll's corner, the building corner, the exercise room and the garden.
