Death
The loss of a loved one is painful. To help you, here is a brief summary of the steps you need to take after the death.
- Issue of death certificate by the doctor
- Notification of the death to the Liechtenstein Civil Registry Office
- Contact with a funeral home
- Notification of death is forwarded to the municipal registry office by the parish office
- Burial at the Vaduz cemetery, prior to this notification to the municipal works department (+423 238 29 20)
- Arrangement with the parish office for rosary, evening mass, memorial mass, funeral service, urn burial, etc.
- Werkbetrieb organizes and prepares the burial / urn burial

Cost regulation
For burials at the Vaduz cemetery, the Municipality of Vaduz bears the following costs:
- Opening and closing of the grave
- Assistance with the transfer of the coffin from the hearse to the cemetery chapel
- Removal of the grave at the end of the specified resting period
The costs for all other services, for which the services of the funeral home are generally used, are to be borne by the next of kin.
