Politics

The municipal council of Vaduz is made up of the mayor and twelve municipal councillors. These are each elected in two separate direct popular elections for a four-year term of office. The municipal councillors are elected by proportional representation, the mayor by majority system. The municipal councillors and the mayor represent the municipality in accordance with their powers.
