Sculpture purchase "Raumableiter"
The Bad Ragartz sculpture exhibition in Vaduz showcases a variety of artworks by renowned artists. The internationally recognized art exhibition, which is known for its outstanding presentation of contemporary art in public spaces, provided the ideal setting for the selection of a work of art and underlines the good cooperation with the Sculpture Triennial Foundation - Bad Ragaz. The municipality of Vaduz has decided to acquire the artwork "Raumableiter" by Swiss artist Max Grüter for the purchase price of CHF 70,000.00.
Max Grüter's works are exhibited internationally and are considered innovative, limited and groundbreaking. The sculpture "Raumableiter" bears witness to these characteristics. The figure is made of cast aluminum, the helmet visor is made of gold-plated bronze. The artistic statement plays with man's idea of space and protection as well as his perception of his environment. Max Grüter demonstrates how people can feel in an increasingly complex and anonymous world. The high-tech shell of a spacesuit protects the body from external influences on the one hand, while on the other, silence, isolation and abandonment set in inside. The sculpture can also be seen as a metaphor for human ambition and the exploration of the unknown. There is also a connection to Vaduz: A moon rock from the Apollo 11 mission with a Liechtenstein flag is on display in the treasury of the National Museum, a gift from the then American President Nixon. The National Museum also has astrophilately in the form of letters written, signed and stamped in various space stations.
The sculpture "Raumableiter" by artist Max Grüter adds a modern, inspiring aspect to the sculpture collection of the municipality of Vaduz and will be given a prominent place in the center of Vaduz.
