New insect hotel for more biodiversity in Vaduz
Since yesterday, a new insect hotel in the shape of the Vaduz logo has adorned the northern entrance to the municipality of Vaduz. This special project is a strong symbol of the municipality's commitment to preserving biodiversity and was realized in collaboration with the "Vadoz summt" initiative.
The insect hotel is located under a tree that not only provides shade, but also offers an ideal habitat for wild bees. The close proximity to food-rich plants such as the flowering vines of the neighboring "Hofkellerei Vaduz" winery makes this location particularly attractive for a variety of insect species. The foundations of the hotel were built on the site of the former footpath. This means that the natural surroundings are affected as little as possible.
The insect hotel itself is a small paradise for wildlife: it offers numerous nesting opportunities, hiding places and shelters for bees, butterflies and other useful insects. The integrated flowering plants also provide a rich selection of food and create colorful retreats.
This project illustrates the municipality of Vaduz's commitment to sustainable measures to protect nature. At the same time, the proximity to the "Hofkellerei Vaduz" creates a cultural link. The "Hofkellerei", an important cultural and historical site in Vaduz, combines tradition and nature in a special way and underlines the harmony between sustainable agriculture and cultural heritage.
