Unveiling of the portrait of former mayor Manfred Bischof
It is a tradition that the Mayor of Vaduz is portrayed by an artist at the end of his or her term of office, with the painting then being hung along the side corridors of the Vaduz Town Hall. Yesterday, Mayor Florian Meier and former Mayor Manfred Bischof unveiled the portrait. During a small ceremony, Florian Meier paid tribute to Manfred Bischof's achievements.
The portrait of the former mayor was created by the young Balzner artist Giuliano Scherini. After completing the preliminary design course at the Liechtenstein School of Art and attending the F+F School of Art and Design in Zurich, he successfully completed a three-year course in classical oil painting at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence.
With Manfred Bischof, 22 former mayors are now immortalized in the town hall.
